You get the best of both worlds!

I’m all for buying versatile pieces of clothing for your wardrobe. It’s a great way to be savvy as well as cutting down on costs, particularly if you are on a budget. Sometimes it can be hard to find pieces which would be great for work as well as when you are not. Here are two pieces that I have recently picked up in the Dorothy Perkins sale that I think would work for the workplace as well a casual look for the weekends or your day off.

Collared tops appear to be coming back in and this black and white striped one is so flattering! Although it looks like a shirt is underneath it, this is actually one piece. This is something I love because you are not caught up in multiple layers, it’s just one thick, warm and lovely piece!

I think having the quarter length sleeves also enables you to have the option to dress this look down with leggings or jeans. I’ve tailored mine with some black leggings and my white Vans. But this look could also work with some plain black dolly shoes and some jeans as well.

This blue and white stripe shirt makes me feel really summery all whilst feeling cold in the middle of January! With it’s double lining down the buttons, it makes it a strong contender to confidently wear in the office without worrying if you’re bra is on show in the middle! The material is so soft and it feels so lovely when I put it on, it’s almost like having a pyjama top on!

I like the fact that the shirt is long as sometimes shirts that are short in the body then make you look shorter than what you actually are. To dress this one down, I have teamed it with my jeggings and brown brogues. But this could also work with some black jeans and some nude dolly shoes.

So which look is your favourite? I’d love to know what you think so drop me a comment!
