Goodbye summer dresses and skirts… Hello jeans and pinafores!

It’s time to put away those summer dresses and skirts because it’s October! But all is not loss, as you can still look stylish whilst wrapping up in this cold weather! Let me explain to you how I will be doing this in winter 2016!

First off, you gotta get yourself a decent pair of jeans. This is pretty essential if you are going to get through the English winter weather! The following looks have all been tailored with a pair of Curves blue high waist skinny jeans from New Look. These are a great buy as I HATE low rise jeans where every time I bend over everyone can see my ass! So these give great coverage for that lovely behind of yours!

One of the most exciting things about Winter (well for me, I don’t know about you) is it’s lumber jack season! Oh my god these NEVER go out of fashion! You can wear these year after year without worrying if there in fashion – Don’t worry, they will be. And if someone tells you there not, don’t talk to them. You don’t need that negativity in your life! Anyways, back to fashion…

The one I am wearing is checked and is from Primark at a bargain price of £6. However, a similar one can be found here. I wore my favourite brown brogues with this outfit but a pair of tan boots would also look amazing with it!

I also find that when the cold weather comes in (so all year in England basically) people always feel the need to wear dark, boring colours. But you really don’t! The following tops below are from Dorothy Perkins Curve range. The first one is classed as a pink colour. I wore this with my black shiny brogues and my New Look jeans. I did put a black vest top underneath the top itself but you could also get away without doing this! I just didn’t like my back being on show as it has that cross pattern with a cut out bit at the back! Also, another great thing about this top is that those necklaces at the front are built in! How cool is that?!

For some reason though, I think the yellow one (well the website classes it as orange) looks better on me. This might be due to my really pale skin! But either way, both are great colour to brighten up your wardrobe on a cold winter’s morning!

This final shirt is another Dorothy Perkins one in an apricot colour. I wore this with my white shoes because the sun was shining and I still wanted to feel summery (even though it was freezing outside!) but I think this could also work with a nice pair of nude shoes as well. I like how the sleeves are 3/4 length, which is just enough coverage for keeping you warm without being all the way down the arm. I don’t know about you but if I have something long sleeved on and I can’t roll them up… Then it’s bound to end in disaster when washing your hands or if you’re with messy children at a restaurant! – I know that sounds like I cannot function as an adult in life but honestly, I can really (well maybe)!

Additionally, winter season doesn’t necessarily mean us ladies have to wear trousers. Ladies grab yourself a pair of thick tights and put on a skirt or a pinafore!

Khaki green is so in at the moment And what better way to wear it then in a skirt form with a bright shirt? Well say no more! This skirt is from Dorothy Perkins curve range again and I have tailored it with a red shirt from last year’s Primark and my black brogues. The skirt online does state it is a mini skirt but I’m short in height and this comes just below the knee! So for me, it’s perfect!

The below images feature myself wearing a Dorothy Perkins Curve dungaree/pinafore dress in a Khaki colour. Well I say khaki, the website says ‘green’ (aka Khaki). Underneath this, I have styled it with a Dorothy Perkins Curve rust geo longline shirt. I must admit, when I first put this pinafore dress on, I felt like an absolute dick and wondered if I looked like a full grown baby. But after a while I warmed to the outfit and I absolutely love it now! They are very versatile and would go with pretty much any top underneath. I have worn my white New Look shoes with them (again brogue kinda style, shock there I know!) but I think some leather style black boots would also go great!

And finally, this is my ultimate favourite look! Just wearing this outfit makes me excited! As I said above, I felt really self conscious at first wearing dungarees but once I began styling them, I fell in love! These below are from Matalan’s Curve range which they call Papaya (what a weird name?! Do they think all curve women look like that fruit or? Anyways!) and are a little on the short side for me but hey ho, I still love them! I put my Dorothy Perkins Curve rust stripe longline shirt underneath which has 3/4 length sleeves. I also put my brown brogues (I know, shocking right!) with it but long brown boots would also give it a great look too!
